Heather here,
I love all things design, leading me to pursue my Bachelor of Global Business and Digital Arts at the University of Waterloo Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business (2020-2024) which helped me lay a solid foundation of design, business, and technology. I have a variety of design experience through previous jobs and internships such as a product photographer in the food industry, designer for a national charity, and user researcher for a tech startup.
I have loved art and the process of creating a product ever since I was a kid; I enjoy painting water bottles, shoes, and cameras just for fun because I love creating a practical experience for people through design. My favourite part about the design process has to be research, finding ways to make products inclusive and safe through empathy.
In my spare time, I am an avid hiker which has led me to pursue a graduate research project that leverages technology to improve outdoor recreation safety (it's still in the works - I'd love to chat about it with you if you are interested). Right now I am in Santa Clara, CA, currently pursuing graduate studies in Human Computer Interaction at the UCSC Silicon Valley Campus to further my design and research skills, making a more equitable future with technologies.
